A cloud-form, believed to be a waterspout, has appeared over Snug south of Hobart tonight.
Waterspouts form when winds blowing in 2 different directions run into each other, sucking up water from the ground.

The BOM say they are unusual but not rare in Tasmania.
Rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected to gradually clear across the state by later in the evening, with isolated showers to follow – more likely in the west.
Southwesterly winds are expected to return over Tasmania Thursday night and on Friday as a new high south of the Bight directs a ridge over the State.
