Two Tasmanian devils are getting ready to jet off to Japan as a gift from the State Government to Tokyo’s Tama Zoo.
A “great way to show our friendship” with Japan following a successful trade mission to Asia earlier this month, Premier Jeremy Rockliff says the gift is apart of the Tasmanian devil ambassador program.

Two devils were previously sent to the Tama Zoo in June 2016 and again in 2017, with the San Diego, Copenhagen and Auckland zoos also among locations to receive Tasmanian devils in the past.
It’s understood the Devils will be placed into quarantine before their journey to Japan in the coming months.
